Heat a pot over medium heat and add your oil of choice. Chop the onions to a medium size and half the garlic. The onion and garlic do not have to be too fine because we will puree them. Once the oil is hot, place the onions into a pot and sauté. After 3-4 minutes, add the garlic. Don't forget to stir occasionally.
After the garlic and onions have a begin to caramelize add the brown sugar. Melt the brown sugar but be careful not to burn it. Stir slowly but consistently.
Once brown sugar has a nice glaze, add the apple cider vinegar, ketchup, spices, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and let simmer until all of the sugar is incorporated (a few minutes)
Once the sugar is incorporated pour the sauce into a blender. Blend for 10 - 15 seconds until the sauce is smooth.
Pour the sauce into a container and let cool at room temp for about an hour before placing it into the refrigerator.
