Bingham Wind Power Project
Transmission and Distribution Construction | Bingham, ME
Scope of Work
The 186MW project consists of fifty-six Vestas V112-3.3 MW Wind Turbine Generators mounted on 94m towers. WTG’s will be placed along hills and surrounding private lands in Somerset and Piscataquis counties by means of upgrading existing and creating new project access roads, creating a new crane path and WTG work-pads. Each WTG will be built on an individual WTG work pad consisting of the WTG, WTG foundation, UG Collector, level crane pad and WTG assembly/work space.
Energy produced by the WTG’s will be collected through a combination overhead and underground 34.5kV collector system and then transmitted to an onsite collector substation for distribution. The output of the collector substation will be 115kV over and 18 mile transmission line to the existing Guilford Substation in Parkman, Maine. A new operations & maintenance building will be located on the project site as currently permitted, however there is a potential alternate location in the town of Bingham.
